Who's Organizing?

this is where our purpose lies.

Bluewater Kitchen along with The Citizens for Fauquier County & Buchanan Hall have headed this effort to fulfill the great need for a fun & consistent area market.

Bluewater Kitchen's fundamental value is reconnecting people to where their food is sourced and being able to share the story of local farms through their full-service catering and The Market in Upperville.

And CFFC has been the guardian of Fauquier’s controlled growth and rural agricultural character since 1968. Their mission is to preserve the natural, historic and agricultural resources of the County.

We are excited to share our passion for agriculture by organzing this weekly market and showcasing the amazing people & products curated in the immediate area.

It is truly a perfect partnership.

Citizens for Fauquier County

Fifty years ago, not far from here, a developer looked at Fauquier’s lush, rolling hills and forests and foresaw 10,000 houses. A coalition that became Citizens for Fauquier County (CFFC) rose in opposition to a development that would have changed Fauquier forever.

CFFC has been the guardian of Fauquier’s controlled growth and rural agricultural character. They've made history, and we’ve saved history, too. Founded in 1968, Citizens for Fauquier County is a non-partisan, non-profit organization representing hundreds of individuals and families active in local conservation efforts.

Their mission is to preserve the natural, historic and agricultural resources of Fauquier County, and to protect the County’s unique quality of life through education and leadership.

They believe in the conservation of our rich agricultural assets and clean air, pure water and dark nighttime skies.

They believe in the conservation of open space, the importance of agriculture, and that our history — villages, farms and landmarks should be carefully preserved.

They believe in their role in developing thoughtful solutions aimed at keeping Fauquier County so special.
